We welcome every visitor equally regardless of their physical, sensory or mental capacity. We are however, honest about our rural location and the limitation that this can impose.

We aim to provide a quality service within these limitations and continually strive to improve so that as many people as possible can enjoy our one day event.

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with disabilities, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our visitors.

We currently offer:

Pre-Show Day

  • A comprehensive website
  • Advance admission tickets available on-line (as tickets to be posted or e-tickets to print-at-home)
  • Contact by e-mail, phone or in person at Wangford Veterinary Clinic (event sponsor)
  • Concessionary terms are available for registered carers accompanying a disabled visitor – please contact us via website contact facility for full details
  • Visitors with disabilities are encouraged to seek advice and assistance – event volunteers are very willing to supply any information that may be helpful in planning your visit

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

  • All vehicular routes carry directional signs
  • Designated blue-badge disabled parking in an area in close proximity to the main event ground – please follow signage
  • Car parks clearly marked
  • Parking Stewards on hand to assist
  • All parking is free
  • Drop-off point for disabled visitors
  • Toilets on main event site, at the start of the walk and out on the walk. There is one disabled toilet in close proximity to the main entrance of the event site.

Main event site and arenas
General:

  • The main avenues are level of hard-core or grass surfaces are approximately a single lane carriageway width.
  • Between ‘roadways’ the area is grassed which can be uneven underfoot
  • Chairs, benches and seating are provided throughout the main event site offering the opportunity for those less able to sit down. Additionally, stallholders are asked to assist customers by providing seats
  • First Aid point on the main site with other members walking around the site.
  • Veterinary Surgeons available
  • Litter bins strategically sited throughout the event site, carparks and walk route.
  • Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times
  • Dog water bowls beside each set of toilet units, out on walk route and around the arenas
  • Stewards, identified with a named bright green “Steward” badge, on duty throughout the event site and car parks, are always able to offer assistance wherever/whenever required. Additionally some wear hi-viz waistcoats with Strutt Your Mutt Steward in black letters on the back

Toilets:

  • There are 2 sets of toilets on the main event site
  • Individual unisex toilets are ground level
  • 1 Temporary disabled toilet, accessed at ground level
  • 1 Permanent disabled toilet located within the large barn
  • Hand washing facilities in temporary toilets
  • Hot hand washing in permanent toilets

Planning:
